The Walkera Dragonfly 4G3 is the ultimate ultra mini electric helicopter for indoor 3D flying. It is possibly one of the smallest 3D capable RC helicopters in the world. Despite its size, it has the full functionality you would expect from a larger class of helicopter.

As standard, the Dragonfly comes equipped with a 6 channel receiver, a 3 servo CCPM rotor control system and a high performance brushless motor which enables it to perform the whole range of 3D manoeuvres from rolling to inverted flight and swoops.

While this helicopter has extraordinary manoeuvrability, it comes at the cost of stability. It has been noted by many inexperienced RC pilots that it is difficult to control in slow, stable flight and that it responds extremely rapidly to small control inputs. It should be pointed out that this helicopter will be enjoyed more by intermediate to advanced pilots who can appreciate the rapid responses for high indoor performance.

The 3.7V 400mAh Li-Po battery pack provides ample power for approximately 6-8 minutes depending on how rigorous the mode of flight is.

Overall, this is a tight precision indoor electric helicopter. While it may seem a little on the expensive side, it is a great platform to hone and master the skills of 3D flight. It is a perfect trainer for those who take indoor RC helicopter flying seriously.

This thing is indestructible! Its thick plastic blades and nose shell can really take a beating, and the Aluminum skeleton provides plenty of structural support.

Charging the unit takes 30 minutes to go from flat to fully charged. In terms of flight-time, it can operate for approximately 15 minutes and can fly in 2 mile per hour winds. Unfortunately the unit can’t pitch greatly, so you will be chasing it as it goes in the direction of the wind.

The RC helicopter’s controller feels quite low quality, and the decals don’t help the matter. They were placed off centre and actually impeded on the usage of the controller.

The Gyro excellent, you can feel the blades slow to compensate and stabilize when you yaw the unit. The control has knob to control trim, keeping the unit from spinning when just hovering.

Well worth the price. The only problems you may encounter are the lack of reverse / forward maneuverability and the cheap controller. Highly recommended!
